Getting started

What is dozo?

dozo lets you pay a bill or invoice by card. You pay dozo by card. We pay the person or business for you.

What do I need to use dozo?

You must be 18 or over and live in the UK. You need a debit or credit card (see which cards you can use) and a dozo subscription. Before your first payment, we verify your identity.

How do you verify my identity?

We ask for your full name, date of birth and home address. You upload two documents:

  • a proof of ID: a passport, driving licence or national ID card
  • a proof of address: a utility bill, bank statement or council tax letter

You can use any debit or credit card issued in the UK.

From 26 October 2026, you can also use a card issued outside the UK. It has a higher fee. See Does the fee depend on my card?

Until then, we do not accept cards issued outside the UK. If you pay with one of these cards, the payment will not go through.

How much can I pay?

Each payment can be from £1 to £20,000. From 26 October 2026, each new payment must be at least £100. Your plan also has a monthly limit:

PlanMonthly limit
£29 a month£10,000
£79 a month£150,000

The monthly limit counts the bill amounts that you pay in a calendar month. It does not count the fee. To change your plan, email hello@dozopay.co.

How do you check the payee?

When you add a payee, we check the name and account details with the payee’s bank to ensure it's going to the right place.

Fees

What does dozo cost?

You pay a subscription and a fee on each payment.

PlanMonthlyYearlyFee per payment with a UK card
Up to £10,000 a month£29£2902.5%
Up to £150,000 a month£79£7902.3%

From 26 October 2026, a card issued outside the UK has a 3.5% fee on either plan.

Does the fee depend on my card?

The fee depends on where your card was issued.

CardFee per payment
Debit or credit card issued in the UK, personal or businessYour plan’s fee: 2.5% or 2.3%
Card issued outside the UK, from 26 October 20263.5%

If your card has a higher fee, we show it on the card payment page before we charge you. You can pay the new total or use a different card.

When do I see the fee?

After you create a payment, we show the dozo fee and the total that we will charge your card. You see the same amounts on the card payment page before you pay. We also email you a breakdown.

Timing

When does my payee get the money?

When you create a payment, you can choose when to send it to the recipient. Your card is charged on payment submission.

The earliest payment-out date that you can choose is 5 days after today (UK time), not counting bank holidays in England and Wales.

The payment-out date is the day that we send the money. The payee’s bank can take longer to reconcile and show it.

How early do I need to pay a bill?

Create the payment at least 5 working days before the due date. Weekends and bank holidays may cause delays in reconciliation on the receiver's end. An earlier payment-out date does not make your card payment reach us sooner.

Can I change the payment-out date?

After you pay by card, you cannot change the date in the app. Email hello@dozopay.co.

My bill is due soon and the payee has not received the money

Open the payment in the app. Look at its status and its payment-out date.

If the status is Processing, we are waiting for your card payment to reach us, waiting for your payment-out date, or paying your payee.

If the due date is close, email hello@dozopay.co with the payee name and amount. We will tell you where the payment is.

Changes and refunds

Can I cancel a payment?

After you pay by card, you cannot cancel the payment in the app. Email hello@dozopay.co as soon as possible.

Your subscription

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period that you paid for.
